Reliance Retail was launched in 2006 as the retail arm of Reliance Industries Limited, with the first Reliance Fresh store opening in Hyderabad. It soon diversified, commencing operations in the consumer electronics, fashion and lifestyle, and wholesale food segments over the following decade.
